About Rania
Rania Amer Nahdi is a Tanzanian mixed media artist whose work is rooted in storytelling, identity, and emotional depth. Born in Morogoro and now based in Arusha, Rania finds inspiration in Tanzanian women, culture, and everyday life.
Her art often reflects the unseen beauty and strength in others, especially women who may not recognize it in themselves.
How She Works
Rania blends various techniques and materials from acrylics and textiles to natural elements and beadwork to create layered, textured pieces that evoke feeling and memory. Much of her work leans into abstract expressionism, marked by bold strokes, dot patterns, and symbolic forms. Her process is intuitive, emotional, and grounded in both personal experience and cultural storytelling. Whether on canvas or mixed surfaces, each piece is crafted with intention, inviting viewers to interpret it through their own lens.
Where the Work Begins
Founded in 2019 by mixed media artist Rania Nahdi, Rania’s Art Gallery is a contemporary art space nestled in the heart of Arusha, Tanzania. More than just a gallery, it serves as a sanctuary for creativity, storytelling, and cultural expression.
Located at Sable Square, right next to Aly’s Hair Salon, the gallery features a vibrant collection of original artworks that seamlessly blend texture, color, and narrative. Each piece is a reflection of Rania’s unique artistic voice and deep cultural roots.
